Emel Mathlouthi is a Tunisian singer-songwriter and composer born in Tunis in 1982. She first gained international attention in 2010 with her song "Kelmti Horra" (My Word Is Free), which became an anthem during the Tunisian revolution. Her music blends traditional North African sounds with contemporary electronic and rock elements, often addressing themes of freedom, identity, and social justice. Mathlouthi has released several albums including "Kelmti Horra" (2010), "Ensen" (2017), and "The Tunis Diaries" (2020). She performs in multiple languages including Arabic, French, and English, and has collaborated with artists across various genres while maintaining a strong connection to her Tunisian roots.
