Bio
Kara Jackson is an American singer-songwriter and poet from Oak Park, Illinois. She first gained recognition as the third U.S. National Youth Poet Laureate (2019–2020) before transitioning into music with her 2021 EP Why Does the Earth Give Us People to Love? Her work blends intimate folk, jazz, and indie sensibilities, often exploring themes of love, loss, and identity through sparse arrangements and poetic lyricism.
