G-Unit is an American hip hop group formed in Queens, New York in 2002. The collective, originally featuring 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, and later Young Buck, became a dominant force in early-2000s gangster rap with their raw lyricism and street-focused narratives. The group released their debut album Beg for Mercy in 2003, which achieved multi-platinum status and spawned hits like "Stunt 101" and "Poppin' Them Thangs." G-Unit's influence extended beyond music through their G-Unit Records imprint and signature clothing line, cementing their status as a cultural phenomenon in hip hop. After a period of inactivity and lineup changes, the group officially disbanded in 2022.
