Bio
Craig Armstrong is a Scottish composer and conductor born in Glasgow in 1959. He is known for his orchestral and electronic scores for film and television, including the music for Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge!, and The Great Gatsby. Armstrong studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and began his career writing for theatre and contemporary dance before moving into film scoring. His work often blends classical orchestration with modern production techniques, and he has collaborated with artists such as Massive Attack and Madonna. In addition to film work, Armstrong has released several solo albums and composed concert pieces performed by leading orchestras. He continues to write for both the screen and the concert hall from his base in the United Kingdom.
