Bio
Jean-Yves Thibaudet is a French classical pianist born in Lyon in 1961. He studied at the Conservatoire de Paris and won the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in 1980. Thibaudet has performed with major orchestras worldwide and recorded extensively for Decca, including complete cycles of Ravel and Satie. He is known for his refined technique and broad repertoire spanning French impressionism, Romantic works, and contemporary commissions. Notable collaborations include film scores with Alexandre Desplat and appearances at the Hollywood Bowl and BBC Proms.
