Four Tops are an American vocal quartet formed in Detroit in 1953. The original lineup—Levi Stubbs, Renaldo Benson, Abdul "Duke" Fakir, and Lawrence Payton—remained together for over four decades, making them one of Motown’s longest-lasting acts. Their signature sound blended smooth harmonies with dramatic lead vocals, most notably on hits such as "Baby I Need Your Loving," "I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)," and "Reach Out I’ll Be There." The group’s enduring catalog helped define the classic-soul and northern-soul styles that continue to influence artists today.
