David Lee Murphy is an American country music singer-songwriter born January 7, 1959, in Herrin, Illinois. He first gained recognition in the mid-1990s with hits such as "Dust on the Bottle" and "Party Crowd," both of which reached the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. In addition to his own recordings, Murphy has written numerous chart-topping singles for other artists, including Kenny Chesney's "Big Star" and "Living in Fast Forward." His work spans traditional and contemporary country styles, and he continues to release music and perform live.
