Bio
Boston Camerata is an early-music ensemble founded in 1954 in Boston, Massachusetts, by Narcissa Williamson of the Museum of Fine Arts. Under artistic director Joel Cohen from 1969 to 2008 and later Anne Azéma, the group became known for historically informed performances of medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque repertoire. They have released numerous acclaimed recordings on Erato, Warner Classics, and their own label, often focusing on French, English, and Sephardic traditions. The ensemble frequently collaborates with European early-music specialists and has toured extensively in North America and Europe.
