Bio
Hans-Joachim Roedelius (born 26 October 1934 in Berlin) is a German composer and musician whose work spans more than five decades. He first gained recognition in the late 1960s as a founding member of the influential electronic and experimental groups Cluster and Harmonia, helping to shape the early sound of krautrock and ambient music. Throughout his solo career, Roedelius has explored minimalist, drone, and piano-based compositions, releasing dozens of albums that range from meditative electronic pieces to intimate acoustic works. His recordings are noted for their sparse textures and reflective mood, and he remains an active performer and recording artist into his late eighties.
