2Baba, born Innocent Ujah Idibia on 18 September 1976 in Jos, Nigeria, is a pioneering Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer. He first rose to fame in the late 1990s as the frontman of the R&B/hip-hop group Plantashun Boiz before launching a solo career that established him as one of the most influential voices in modern African music. His 2004 debut solo album, "Face 2 Face," produced the enduring hit "African Queen," which became a continental anthem and helped popularize Afropop worldwide. Subsequent releases such as "Grass 2 Grace" (2006) and "The Unstoppable" (2008) further cemented his reputation for blending Afrobeat, highlife and contemporary R&B with socially conscious lyrics. Over a career spanning more than two decades, 2Baba has earned multiple MTV Africa Music Awards, Headies trophies and international recognition, while mentoring a new generation of Nigerian artists and advocating for social causes across the continent.
