Stereo MC's are a British hip hop and electronic music group formed in London in 1985. The core members are vocalist Rob Birch and producer Nick Hallam, who met while working at the Ministry of Sound. Their sound blends hip hop beats with funk, soul, and acid jazz influences. The group achieved mainstream success in the early 1990s with their album "Connected," which featured the hit single of the same name. Their music is characterized by laid-back grooves, socially conscious lyrics, and a fusion of dance and hip hop elements that helped define the Madchester scene.
