Lil Suzy is an American singer and songwriter born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 1, 1979. She rose to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a leading voice in the freestyle and Miami bass scenes, releasing her debut album at age 14. Her breakthrough single "Take Me in Your Arms" became a dance-club staple, and subsequent hits such as "Promise Me" and "Just Can't Get Over You" solidified her place in the Latin hip-hop and Chicago house communities. Throughout her career she has continued to perform and record within the freestyle and dance-music genres.
