Bio

Wailing Souls are a Jamaican roots reggae vocal trio formed in Kingston in the late 1960s. Originally known as The Renegades, the group—comprising Winston "Pipe" Matthews, Lloyd "Bread" McDonald, and later George "Buddy" Haye—became known for their tight harmonies and socially conscious lyrics. They recorded for Studio One and later for Channel One, releasing classics such as "Very Well," "Bredda Gravilicious," and the album "Wild Suspense." Their work helped define the transition from rocksteady to roots reggae and remains influential in dub and reggae circles.
