Bio
K'NAAN (born Keinan Abdi Warsame) is a Somali-Canadian poet, rapper, singer, songwriter and instrumentalist. Born in Mogadishu in 1978, he emigrated to Toronto as a teenager and began releasing music in the mid-2000s. His 2009 album Troubadour brought international attention, especially the single "Wavin' Flag," which became the anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. His work often blends hip-hop with Somali musical traditions and addresses themes of war, displacement and resilience.
