Bio
Cerrone (born Marc Cerrone, 24 May 1952) is a French drummer, record producer and composer whose work helped define the European disco sound of the late 1970s. He first gained international attention with the 1976 album Love in C Minor, whose extended title track became a dance-floor staple and reached the top of the U.S. disco charts. Subsequent releases such as Cerrone IV (1978) and the single “Supernature” further established his reputation for blending orchestral arrangements with driving four-on-the-floor rhythms. Over the following decades Cerrone continued to produce and remix, moving through hi-NRG, Italo-disco and French-house styles while maintaining a presence on dance charts. His catalog has been sampled and covered by later generations of electronic artists, and he remains active both as a live performer and as the head of Malligator Records.
