Bio
Soul II Soul is a British musical collective formed in London in 1988. The group is best known for blending soul, funk, reggae, and electronic elements, helping to popularize the new jack swing sound in the UK. Their debut album Club Classics Vol. One (1989) featured the international hit "Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)," which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and earned them a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. The collective, led by producer and DJ Jazzie B, has continued to release music and tour, maintaining a lasting influence on British soul and dance music.
