Bio
The Chameleons were an English post-punk band formed in Middleton, Greater Manchester in 1981. They emerged during the early 1980s wave of British post-punk acts, blending atmospheric guitars, driving rhythms, and introspective lyrics. The group released three studio albums—Script of the Bridge (1983), What Does Anything Mean? Basically (1985), and Strange Times (1986)—before disbanding in 1987. They reunited in the late 1990s and continued intermittently until 2003, leaving a lasting influence on gothic rock, darkwave, and subsequent alternative scenes.
