Erasure is an English synthpop duo formed in London in 1985 by singer Andy Bell and songwriter Vince Clarke. Clarke, previously a founding member of Depeche Mode and Yazoo, paired with Bell to create a sound that blended catchy melodies with electronic production. The pair quickly became one of the most successful acts of the late 1980s and early 1990s, scoring multiple UK Top 10 singles including "Sometimes," "A Little Respect," and "Always." Their music is characterized by Bell's distinctive high tenor and Clarke's polished synth arrangements, and they have maintained a steady output of albums and tours spanning more than three decades.
