Aimee Mann is an American singer-songwriter and bassist born in Richmond, Virginia, in 1960. She first gained prominence in the 1980s as the frontwoman of the new-wave band 'Til Tuesday, achieving mainstream success with the hit single "Voices Carry." After the band's dissolution, Mann embarked on a solo career marked by introspective, literate songwriting and a distinctive voice. Over the decades, she has released numerous critically acclaimed albums, often exploring themes of personal struggle, relationships, and emotional resilience. Her work has been recognized with Grammy Awards, and she has also contributed to film soundtracks, most notably Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia, for which she received an Academy Award nomination.
