Apocalyptica is a Finnish symphonic metal band formed in Helsinki in 1993. Originally a cello quartet, the group gained recognition for performing instrumental covers of Metallica songs on cellos, later expanding their repertoire to include original compositions and collaborations with vocalists. Their music blends classical instrumentation with heavy metal, creating a distinctive sound that has earned them a dedicated following worldwide.
