Interpol is an American rock band formed in New York City in 1997. The group emerged from the city's early-2000s post-punk revival scene and is known for its dark, atmospheric sound and introspective lyrics. The band gained critical acclaim with their debut album *Turn On the Bright Lights* (2002), which is often cited as a landmark of 21st-century indie rock. Subsequent releases such as *Antics* (2004) and *Our Love to Admire* (2007) solidified their reputation for moody guitar textures and driving rhythms. Interpol's lineup has remained relatively stable, centered around vocalist-guitarist Paul Banks, guitarist Daniel Kessler, and drummer Sam Fogarino.
