Bio

Herb Alpert is an American trumpeter, composer, arranger, and record producer. He rose to prominence in the 1960s as the leader of the Tijuana Brass, whose instrumental hits such as "The Lonely Bull," "Tijuana Taxi," and "A Taste of Honey" blended mariachi-inspired brass with pop and jazz sensibilities. Beyond performing, Alpert co-founded A&M Records with Jerry Moss in 1962, building it into one of the most successful independent labels of its era. His trumpet work and production have earned multiple Grammy Awards and recognition as one of the best-selling instrumental artists in popular music history.
