Daughtry is an American rock band formed in 2006 by singer Chris Daughtry after his appearance on the fifth season of American Idol. The group quickly achieved mainstream success with their self-titled debut album, which became the fastest-selling debut rock album in Nielsen SoundScan history. Known for their post-grunge sound and anthemic songwriting, Daughtry has released multiple platinum-certified albums and singles, establishing themselves as a staple of modern rock radio.
