BaianaSystem is a Brazilian musical collective formed in Salvador, Bahia in 2009. The group blends traditional Bahian rhythms such as axé and samba-reggae with rock, reggae, and electronic elements, creating a distinctive sound often described as “samba-rock-reggae.” Since their debut, BaianaSystem has released several albums and EPs that explore social and political themes while maintaining a high-energy live show featuring percussion, brass, and guest vocalists. Their music has helped bring Bahian sounds to wider Brazilian and international audiences.
