Insane Clown Posse is an American hip hop duo formed in 1991 in Detroit, Michigan. The group consists of Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope, who are known for their elaborate stage personas and the creation of the Juggalo subculture. They are recognized for pioneering the horrorcore genre, blending elements of rap and rock with dark, theatrical themes. The duo has maintained a dedicated following through their independent label Psychopathic Records and annual events like the Gathering of the Juggalos.
