Bio
Slowdive formed in Reading, England in 1989 and became one of the leading acts of the early-1990s shoegaze movement. Their debut album Just for a Day (1991) and follow-up Souvlaki (1993) established the band’s signature blend of ethereal vocals, layered guitars, and atmospheric production. After releasing Pygmalion in 1995, the group disbanded, but their influence continued to grow through reissues and tributes. Slowdive reunited in 2014 and returned with the self-titled album in 2017, reaffirming their place in contemporary dream-pop and shoegaze scenes.
