Bio
James Mercer is an American singer-songwriter and musician best known as the founder and frontman of the indie rock band The Shins. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1970, he grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he developed his musical style blending melodic pop with introspective lyrics. Mercer has also collaborated with other artists, including forming the side project Broken Bells with producer Danger Mouse.
