Bio
Chris Thile is an American mandolinist, singer, and composer known for his virtuosic playing and genre-blending approach. Born in Oceanside, California, in 1981, he first gained prominence as a teenage prodigy with the bluegrass band Nickel Creek before launching a solo career that spans bluegrass, newgrass, classical, and jazz. Beyond his instrumental work, Thile has hosted NPR’s "Live from Here" and collaborated with artists across genres, including Yo-Yo Ma and Edgar Meyer. His recordings and performances have earned critical acclaim for technical brilliance and musical curiosity.
