Chakri

Bio

Chakri (1980–2014) was an Indian music director and playback singer who worked primarily in the Telugu film industry, known as Tollywood. Born in Telangana, he began his career in the early 2000s and quickly became recognized for his energetic compositions that blended traditional Telugu folk elements with contemporary pop and electronic sounds. Over the course of his career, Chakri scored music for more than fifty films, delivering several chart-topping songs and background scores that helped define the sound of mid-2000s Telugu cinema. His ability to craft catchy melodies and memorable rhythms earned him a loyal fan base and frequent collaborations with leading directors and actors of the time. Chakri passed away in 2014 at the age of 34, leaving behind a legacy of popular film soundtracks that continue to be celebrated by Telugu music listeners.
