Oscar D'León is a Venezuelan singer, bassist, and bandleader widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in salsa music. Born in Caracas in 1943, he rose to prominence in the 1970s with his band La Dimensión Latina, helping to popularize salsa across Latin America and beyond.
