Keith Whitley was an influential American country music singer and songwriter known for his emotive baritone voice and heartfelt ballads. Emerging in the 1980s, he brought a traditional country sound to mainstream audiences with hits like "Don't Close Your Eyes" and "When You Say Nothing at All." Whitley's career was cut short by his untimely death in 1989, but his recordings continue to be celebrated for their emotional depth and lasting impact on the genre.
