Bio
Bruno de Sá is a Brazilian countertenor and soprano born in Rio de Janeiro. He studied at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and trained under teachers including Carlos Alberto Martins and Ana Estela Dias. He gained international attention after winning the 2016 Cesti Competition in Innsbruck and has since performed at major venues including the Teatro alla Scala, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, and the Salzburg Festival. His repertoire spans Baroque opera, sacred music, and contemporary works, with a focus on roles originally written for castrati. He has collaborated with conductors such as Marc Minkowski, Emmanuelle Haïm, and Leonardo García Alarcón. His recordings include the album “Arias for Farinelli” on Alpha Classics.
