Molchat Doma is a Belarusian post-punk band formed in Minsk in 2017. The group blends cold wave, darkwave, and gothic rock elements, drawing on 1980s Soviet-era aesthetics and new-wave influences. Their music is characterized by minimal synth textures, driving bass lines, and introspective Russian-language vocals. The band gained international recognition with their 2018 debut album "Etazhi" and its 2020 follow-up "Monument," both released on the independent label Detriti Records. Their sound has been compared to early new-wave and post-punk acts while maintaining a distinctly Eastern-European atmosphere.
