Asia is a British progressive rock supergroup formed in London in 1981. The band originally featured members from several prominent 1970s rock acts, including John Wetton (King Crimson, U.K.), Steve Howe (Yes), Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake & Palmer), and Geoff Downes (The Buggles, Yes). Their self-titled debut album, released in 1982, became a major commercial success, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 and spawning hits like "Heat of the Moment" and "Only Time Will Tell." Over the decades, Asia has undergone numerous lineup changes while maintaining its core sound blending progressive rock with AOR and arena rock elements. The band has released multiple studio albums and continues to tour internationally, with guitarist Steve Howe remaining the sole original member in the current lineup.
