Bio

Vakero (born July 21, 1979) is a Dominican dembow artist from San Pedro de Macorís. He emerged in the late 1990s as one of the first performers to bring the genre to mainstream audiences in the Dominican Republic and has remained a central figure in its development. His work blends traditional dembow rhythms with influences from reggaeton and hip-hop, and he is known for energetic live shows and a prolific output of singles and mixtapes. Vakero continues to record and perform across Latin America and the Caribbean.
