Bio
John Sebastian is an American singer-songwriter and musician best known as the founder and lead vocalist of the 1960s folk-rock band The Lovin' Spoonful. Born in New York City in 1944, he grew up immersed in the Greenwich Village folk scene and went on to write and perform several enduring hits including "Do You Believe in Magic," "Summer in the City," and "Daydream." After the band disbanded, Sebastian launched a solo career that yielded the chart-topping single "Welcome Back" and continued to explore acoustic, blues, and pop styles. He remains active as a performer and songwriter, maintaining a presence in both live music and recording.
