Bio
Joshua Bell is an American violinist and conductor born in Bloomington, Indiana. He began playing the violin at age four and made his Carnegie Hall debut at fourteen. Bell has recorded extensively for Sony Classical and Decca, winning a Grammy for his work on the soundtrack of The Red Violin. He served as music director of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields from 2011 to 2020 and continues to appear as a soloist with major orchestras worldwide. His playing spans classical repertoire and crossover projects, and he is known for his expressive tone and technical precision.
