Nubya Garcia is a London-born saxophonist, composer, and bandleader whose work fuses jazz with funk, reggae, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. Emerging from the city’s jazz scene in the mid-2010s, she has become one of the leading voices in contemporary British jazz, releasing acclaimed albums such as "Source" and "Odyssey." Garcia is also noted for her collaborative spirit, appearing on projects with artists like Joe Armon-Jones, Moses Boyd, and Ezra Collective, and for her advocacy in broadening access to jazz education.
