Bio
Johann Sebastian Bach was a German composer and musician of the Baroque period. Born in Eisenach in 1685, he held positions as organist and Kapellmeister in Arnstadt, Weimar, Köthen and Leipzig. His output includes over 1,000 works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Goldberg Variations and the Mass in B minor. Bach’s contrapuntal mastery and harmonic language profoundly shaped Western classical music. He is regarded as one of the greatest composers in history.
