Bio

JoAnn Falletta is an American conductor recognized for her work with orchestras across the United States and abroad. Born in Brooklyn in 1954, she has served as music director of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and has appeared as a guest conductor with many major ensembles. Her recordings span a wide range of repertoire, from standard orchestral works to contemporary and American compositions, and have received critical acclaim for both performance quality and programming choices.
