Don Carlos

Don Carlos (born Errol Carter, 29 June 1952) is a Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter from Kingston. He first rose to prominence in the late 1970s as a founding member of the harmony trio Black Uhuru, contributing to their early recordings and the classic album Love Crisis. After leaving Black Uhuru in the early 1980s, he launched a solo career that blended roots reggae, dub, and rocksteady. His debut solo album, Suffering, appeared in 1981, followed by a string of well-regarded LPs such as Just a Passing Phase, Spread Out, and 7 Days a Week. Don Carlos remains active, touring internationally and maintaining a catalog that spans more than four decades.
