Fat Freddy's Drop is a seven-piece band from Wellington, New Zealand, known for blending dub, reggae, soul, jazz, and funk into a distinctive live sound. Formed in the late 1990s, the group built its reputation through extended improvisational performances and a rotating cast of collaborators. Their recordings, including the albums "Based on a True Story" and "Dr Boondigga and the Big BW," helped establish them as one of New Zealand's most internationally recognized acts in the dub and reggae scenes.
