Bio
Sarah McLachlan is a Canadian singer-songwriter and pianist born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1968. She rose to international prominence in the 1990s with her emotive vocal style and introspective songwriting, releasing a series of multi-platinum albums that established her as one of Canada’s most successful contemporary artists. Beyond her recordings, McLachlan founded the Lilith Fair festival in 1997, creating a prominent touring showcase for female musicians that ran for three seasons and later returned in 2010. Her work has been recognized with multiple Juno Awards and Grammy Awards, and she remains active as a performer, composer, and philanthropist.
