Bio
Valerie June is an American singer-songwriter from Jackson, Tennessee, known for blending folk, blues, gospel, soul, country, Appalachian, and Americana traditions. Born on January 10, 1982, she began performing at an early age and developed a distinctive voice and songwriting style that draws on both her Southern roots and broader musical influences. Her debut major-label album, Pushin’ Against a Stone (2013), brought wider recognition, followed by The Order of Time (2017) and The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions for Dreamers (2021). June is noted for her fingerstyle guitar playing, banjo work, and expressive vocals, as well as for her poetic, introspective lyrics.
