Tanya Tucker is an American country music singer who rose to fame as a teenager with her 1972 hit "Delta Dawn." Born in Seminole, Texas, she became one of the youngest performers to achieve major success in country music, known for her powerful voice and rebellious image. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Tucker recorded numerous hits including "What's Your Mama's Name," "Lizzie and the Rainman," and "Strong Enough to Bend." She has been associated with both traditional and outlaw country styles, maintaining a career that has spanned over five decades. Tucker has received multiple Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music awards, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2023. Her catalog includes more than 40 studio albums, and she continues to perform and record new music.
