Bio
Sheila E. is an American percussionist, singer, and songwriter born December 12, 1957, in Oakland, California. She first gained prominence as a drummer and percussionist in the 1980s, collaborating extensively with Prince and appearing on several of his albums. Her 1985 single "The Glamorous Life" became a top-five hit and established her as a solo artist. Beyond her work with Prince, Sheila E. has performed with artists including Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, and Gloria Estefan. She has released multiple solo albums and continues to tour and record, recognized for her virtuosic drumming and multi-instrumental skills.
