Bio

RJD2 is an American producer and DJ born in Eugene, Oregon in 1976. He is known for blending downtempo, trip hop, and plunderphonics, often constructing tracks from sampled vinyl records and live instrumentation. His debut album Dead Ringer (2002) established his reputation for cinematic, sample-heavy beats, and subsequent releases such as Since We Last Spoke and The Third Hand further explored nu-jazz and instrumental hip-hop textures. RJD2 has also composed for film, television, and advertising, and he continues to release music through his own label, RJ’s Electrical Connections.
