Teriyaki Boyz is a Japanese hip-hop supergroup formed in Yokohama in 2005. The collective unites four prominent rappers—Ryo-Z, Ilmari, Verbal, and Wise—alongside DJ Nigo, who also serves as the group’s producer. Their sound blends Japanese and English lyrics over beats that draw from both mainstream hip-hop and club-oriented electronic styles. The group gained international attention with their 2005 single “Tokyo Drift (Fast & Furious),” recorded for the soundtrack of the film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Subsequent releases, including the albums Beef or Chicken (2005) and Serious Japanese (2009), further established their reputation for high-energy tracks and collaborations with global producers and artists.
