Mohbad (born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, 8 June 1996 – 12 September 2023) was a Nigerian singer, songwriter and rapper from Lagos. He first gained attention as a protégé of Naira Marley and a member of the Marlian Music collective, releasing a string of singles and EPs that blended Afrobeats, Afropop and street-hop sensibilities. His 2021 single “Feel Good” and the 2023 album “Blessed” helped establish him as one of the most promising voices in the new wave of Nigerian music. Mohbad’s career was cut short by his untimely death in September 2023, prompting widespread tributes across the Nigerian entertainment industry.
