Bio
Dmitry Alekseyev is a Russian classical pianist born in Moscow. He studied at the Moscow Conservatory and gained international recognition after winning the 1975 Leeds International Piano Competition. Alekseyev is known for his interpretations of Romantic repertoire, particularly the works of Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and Tchaikovsky. He has recorded extensively for EMI Classics and Hyperion Records, including complete cycles of Rachmaninoff’s piano concertos and solo piano works. His playing is noted for its technical precision and lyrical depth. Alekseyev continues to perform worldwide and has served on the juries of major piano competitions.
